Kufri's proximity to the hill station of Simla makes it an important place to visit. Adventure-seeking travelers throng Kufri in winters to enjoy skiing and tobogganing along its snow-covered slopes. Today, this historic rink has gone on to become the Simla Ice Skating Club, which has the largest open-air rink with natural ice in this part of the world. The sweet smell of pine scented air and dappled sunlight are some of the many pleasures this hill station offers. Nature is at her exuberant best and words like pollution and deforestation have never entered the dictionary of a person living in Chail. Deep valleys and thickly forested hills offer spectacular views. Some of the more popular single day treks from City are to Chail, Tattapani or Kalka.
